Convene with colleagues
The residence is named after its former owner, professor and hematologist prof. dr. Marc baron Verstraete (1925 – 2018), whose home had always been a gathering place for academics in life sciences, including prof. Désiré Collen. The latter’s foundation, DCS (Desire Collen Foundation) bought and renovated the house, with the specific intention to continue the welcoming tradition of his former mentor.

Stay in style
The grand townhouse dating from around 1800 was completely renovated and refurbished, with respect for some of the original structures and wooden beams. Each of the four studio’s, has a sleeping area, lounge, bathroom and kitchenette. There is a large communal kitchen and residents have free access to the extensive walled garden behind the house, which will further enhance the ‘feel at home’ atmosphere.
